A teacher at Punahou School, the author has also published two short story collections—Balikbayan and Mango Seasons. She grew up in Olongapo but now lives in Hawai’i. The cover art by Dindo Llana satirizes politicians and popular figures and depicts them on milk can labels. His art has appeared in various publications and children’s books. He lives in Quezon City, Philippines.
